Queen Anne Information

Though not the highest point in Seattle, Queen Anne Hill is close, at 456 feet in elevation. Queen Anne neighborhood is bounded on the east by Lake Union and the west by 15th Avenue. Though Queen Anne Boulevard was never finished as a loop around the entire crest of the hill, it remains a part of the Seattle Parks System. Settlement in the Queen Anne area began in 1851.

In the 1962 Worlds Fair, Queen Anne was the location of the Century 21 Exposition. The area is now home to the Space Needle, the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame, Pacific Science Center and the Experience Music Project. For a view of it all, have a meal in the revolving restaurant at the top of the Space Needle. It’s particularly specatular at night.

With median home prices around $500,000, there are mansions on Queen Anne Hill that are well over $1 million, and have huge views over Lake Union and downtown Seattle. Larger homes on the southwest slope command at least $2 million. With its shops, restaurants, stately homes and tree-lined streets, Queen Anne Hill is definitely an in-demand location.

Though mostly single family homes, there is an increase in availability of condos and townhomes. The residents like the quiet area and the convenience to downtown Seattle. Prices notwithstanding, Queen Anne is one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in Seattle.
